Content Alert: This lesson is very detailed and graphic in its description of the crucifixion and not all details are appropriate for younger children. Read ahead and determine which details you want to share. I recommend using a good children’s Bible, “The Jesus Storybook Bible” does an excellent job in telling the story. It is found on pages 302- 308. For younger children I always recommend that after talking about Jesus’ death you also remember that he rose again and is alive today.
Activity: Take a walk and find some sticks then lash them together with string or yarn, etc. to make a cross. Children might like to hold this while reading/hearing the story.
Prepare and hang the ornament on the tree.
