Ways You Can Help with Haiti Relief!

  • Donate to UMCOR - Advance #418325

UMCOR is supporting emergency relief and development efforts.

  • Donate to HAPI through UMCOR - Advance #3020490

HAPI (Haitian Artisans for Peace International) is a fair trade 'business as mission' venture, primarily for women. ‘Fair trade’ is a just solution for poverty, providing a fair wage within the local context, healthy and safe working conditions, and maintaining an
    environment of dignity and respect.

HAPI will use your donations as follows:

First Response: Emergency Food Pantry - GOAL: $50,000
With roads out and aid going to the hardest hit areas, Mizak will be in short supply of basic food. Your help will sustain them until harvest time. Haiti will
also see a great shift as survivors from the Port au Prince area seek to find new homes or return to their villages. This will spread the needs to what seems like less affected areas.

Second response: Medical Equipment & Supplies - GOAL: $50,000
We are praising God that injuries in Mizak were fewer. Without open roads and open clinics in PaP and Jacmel, there will be less access to local meds.  Our next medical team is scheduled the end of January so if you have donations we can send with them or to receive a list of needs, please contact us right away.

Third response: Repair and Rebuild - GOAL: $50,000
Many homes and buildings were damaged in the area. This makes their use very unsafe. Some will sleep outside which is also dangerous to their health.

  • Purchase a HAPI greeting card Sunday mornings in the church atrium, near Blessed Binds Bookstore. HAPI cards are available on the 3rd Sunday each month. Stop by the display on your way from the Fair Trade coffee, tea, hot chocolate or chocolate bars table.
