This Christmas there is so much going on in the world, sometimes I ask myself “Are all the beautiful remembrances and gifts and gatherings even relevant?” But the more I think about it, the more I realize that the message of Christmas – “The Word became flesh and dwelt among us” is perhaps the most relevant message we could focus on: Light coming into darkness. God “who for us and our salvation,” as the Nicene Creed tells us, “came down from heaven.” And that means something. And that speaks to our world of terrorism, negativity, shifting values, and extreme distraction. And yes, it involves sheep, and mangers, an inn that had no room, and a baby being born. And we celebrate that at Dexter UMC! We’ll have a big multi-generational pageant worship at all three services on December 16th, and on Christmas Eve we’ll have our living nativity! Please join us, and bring some friends with you!
