Designed for all adults

Led by Pat Wilkins. Join in on weekly conversations about how we as Christians can have a positive impact on society and promote social justice. Discussions are formed by the United Methodist Church’s Social Principles, articles and books by contemporary theologians, and presentations by guest speakers.

Beginning February 16, Church & Society will discuss the followingWhat does it mean to be a disciple of Christ today?  Matt Oliver is leading a 6-week study titled Re-Envisioning Discipleship through the Lenses of Social, Political, Economic, and Spiritual Practices.  The study is based on the book Mere Discipleship:  Radical Christianity in a Rebellious World by Lee C. Camp, Professor of Theology and Ethics at Lipscomb University.  In Mere Discipleship, Professor Camp challenges Christians to put obedience to Jesus ahead of allegiances to all earthly authorities.  A limited number of copies of Mere Discipleship are available in class. The book is also available through Amazon.

Grab a cup of coffee and join us for an engaging, thoughtful discussion.  All are welcome.
